About the Chamber

Summary:

The Jordan Chamber of Industry was established by virtue of the Chamber of Industry Law No. 10 of 2005, and it was established as a legal person with financial and administrative independence.

The Chamber is working as a national body that includes under its umbrella all the industrial chambers in Jordan, and it seeks to represent the interests of these chambers as well as promote full cooperation and coordination between them. The Chamber includes Amman Chamber of Industry that was established in 1962, Al-Zarqa Chamber of Industry that was established in 1998 and Irbid Chamber of Industry that was established in 1999.

JCI is considered the legitimate representative of the industrial sector in Jordan through participation in drawing general policies, caring for the interests of industrial and crafts establishments and representing the industrial sector in various local and international forums to advance the national industry and improve its comparative and competitive advantages.

Message:

Enabling and raising the competitiveness of the industrial sector through an effective and thoughtful representation as well as providing innovative services and solutions in a way that contributes to improving the industrial work environment in Jordan through cooperation and partnerships with local and international chambers according to legal frameworks.

Tasks and Goals:

According to the Chamber of Industry Law No. 10 of 2005, the Chamber is entrusted with the goals, tasks and duties:

Chamber's Goals:

  •  Participating in setting the general policy for industry, and in setting the strategy and plans necessary for its implementation.
  •  Participate in developing and developing the national industry.
  •  Taking care of the interests of all industrial and craft institutions.
  •  Promoting cooperation between the Arab and foreign Chambers of Industry and Federations and Chambers of Industry.
  •  Work to enhance the capabilities of the industrial chambers and coordinate their efforts.

Chamber's tasks and duties:

  • Representing industrialists and industrial chambers before any official or unofficial party inside or outside the Kingdom.
  • Participation with the relevant authorities in holding industrial and economic conferences and in local, Arab and international activities of an industrial and economic nature as well as organizing them.
  • Carrying out, publishing and updating studies and research related to the national industry
  • Collecting, compiling and updating information as well as providing industrialists with the information related to the national industry and establishing an Information Center to provide the most recent programs related to industry and economy in cooperation with Jordanian, Arab and International Information Centers and in coordination with the industrial and commercial chambers.
  • Submit proposals for existing legislation, draft laws and regulations related to industry and the economy.
  • Providing technical industrial and economic advice and seeking the assistance of experts and economists for this purpose.
  • Seek to resolve disputes that arise between the industrial chambers or between them and the industrialists or any other Jordanian or non-Jordanian parties through an amicable settlement or arbitration.

Strategic Plan:

Within the framework of the Jordan Chamber of Industry’s endeavor to enable and raise the competitiveness of the industrial sector and to provide innovative solutions to serve the local industry, the Chamber has worked to launch its strategic plan for the years 2020-2022 based on six strategic goals, as follows:

Strategic Goals:

1. Enhancing the image of the Chamber and its position as an umbrella for the industrial sector in the minds of stakeholders and society.

2. Strengthening the chamber's capabilities and its pioneering role in influencing the public policy that has an impact on the industrial sector.

3. Improve and raise the level of cooperation with the local chambers.

4. Better communication and partnership with members of the General Assembly in order to access advanced and always-on services.

5. Improve and develop the internal work environment.

6. Cooperate with partners to promote exports of the industrial sector.

This strategic plan has been translated into an executive action plan for each of the three years to follow up the workflow of the strategy in a manner that guarantees its success to serve the Jordanian industry.
