Engineering, Electrical and Information Technology Industries Sector is one of the largest industrial sectors in the Kingdom. It has become one of the industries responsible for driving growth in economic value added and has a significant impact on growth in many national entities, such as education, public administration, services, administrative and commercial establishments, and manufacturing industries. The Information Technology Industry includes the following main areas: Developed programs, Accounting programs, Internet programs and applications (e-commerce and e-government), Arabization applications, Banking applications and their integration systems, Health insurance programs.

Engineering Industries Sector is characterized by its significant overlap with other industries, which gives it increasing importance as it forms a service base for other sectors. Its value added is also relatively high compared to other sectors.

According to the decision of the esteemed Council of Ministers that adopted the industrial sectors and defined the sub-sectors, the engineering, electrical and information technology industries sector includes the following sub-sectors: electric power, basic iron and steel industries, basic metal industries except iron and steel, metal building products, metal household tools and supplies, sharp and cutting tools, wires, nails and screws, sheet metal, casting and turning, electrical household appliances and their accessories, central heating and solar water heaters, metal equipment and tools for agricultural use, electrical and lighting supplies and wires, electronic devices, primary cells and vehicles, radio and television broadcasting and recording equipment, vehicles, transportation equipment and supplies, metalworking, metal machines and tools, pumps, hoists, ladders and elevators, air conditioning, cooling, firefighting equipment and supplies, machines, equipment and tools for construction work, measuring and weighing instruments, food and water preparation equipment, watches and alarms, information and communication technology industry, and any other similar industries.
