Chemical and cosmetics industries sector is distinguished by its high capacity for development, modernization, and innovation of new products at a very fast pace. Its products have multiple uses, and it has high production capabilities that were clearly demonstrated during COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, the sector is classified as one of the leading sectors in the Jordanian economy, and there are royal recommendations to expand its production operations as it is a key part of achieving the principle of self-sufficiency. It is also considered one of the sectors that support the flow of foreign currency, and it is great importance at the level of the industrial sector in particular and the Jordanian economy in general, due to its prominent contributions to completing the production cycles of many other agricultural, commercial, and industrial projects.
According to the decision of the esteemed Council of Ministers, which adopted the industrial sectors and identified the sub-sectors, the chemical and cosmetics industries sector includes the following sub-sectors: adhesives, cosmetics and perfumes, dyes and tanning materials, fertilizers and pesticides, glues and adhesives, inks, intermediate petroleum products, matches, fireworks and explosives, organic chemicals, paints, pastes and tanning materials, petroleum products, soaps, detergents and cleaning powders, synthetic rubber, and other chemical products.Sector Technical Eng.
