According to the Chambers of Industry Law No. 10 of 2005, the General Authority of the Jordan Chamber of Industry consists of industrial organizations affiliated with local industrial chambers which paid for their financial obligations in accordance with the provisions of the Chambers of Industry Law and the regulations issued pursuant thereto.
Definition of Industrial Enterprises
Any individual company or corporation whose primary purpose is industry and operates in a specific industrial sector with a registered capital of thirty thousand Dinars or more and a number of ten Jordanian workers and more who are registered in social security or any other institution whose primary purpose is industry. The minister decides that it is an industrial corporation depending on the volume of its exports and the amount of its registered capital.
Powers of the General authority
According to the Chambers of Industry Law, the Chamber’s general assembly exercises the following powers:
1. Discussing the general policies of the Chamber and taking the necessary decisions thereon
2. Approval of the Chamber's annual draft budget.
3. Approval of the annual report on the work of the Council, the final accounts and the general budget of the Chamber.
4. Appointing a legal auditor to audit the Chamber’s accounts and determining his fees.
5. Administrative and financial control over the work of the Council.
6. Discussing matters presented to it by the Council and taking the necessary decisions in this regard
General authority meetings :
In accordance with the provisions of the Chambers of Industry Law, the General authority Assembly meets The Jordan Chamber of Industry at least once a year, and it may be called to an extraordinary meeting to consider on certain issues.
